History:

It began ever since I was a medical student at AUB "American University of Beirut", my dream was to offer medical assistance in a humanitarian to as many patients as possible; Al-Hayat Hospital was the solution.

Started in 1967 at Chiah, Beirut as a maternity of 30 beds. In 1968, and because of the urgent need of the community and our surrounding it was turned to a general hospital & it stayed the only Hospital in the region until after the civil war, when in 1977 other hospitals started to show.

After the war was over in 1990, Al Hayat Hospital underwent rapid expansion in buildings and services , ICU, CCU, Fertility center IVF, ICSI, etc.. with excellent results and it is the only center in the southern maten area, this necessitated the rapid development of ICN due to premature labor, and twins deliveries. Our ICN holds 15 incubators, 15 monitors, 5 respirators one with I.V. pumps needed.

Surgery in all kinds- all specialties, general and endoscopic, abdominal, gynecologic and endoscopic , disc surgery.

Brain & Orthopedic surgery G.U. & lithotrespy.
In 2000 – Twining with CHU Amiens- France took place with yearly congresses done at Hayat Hospital.

Coronarography, balloon stent, angioplasty was started in 2001 facilitate patients, CCU care the same time a dialysis center was established composed 13 units so far.

A lot of intervention radiologic echographic procedures are being done arthrosurgery amniocenteses under echography and other biopsies under CTscan.
