Dietary department:
“ To assess current nutritional status and offer appropriate and
sensitive advice on ways to optimize nutrition, taking into
consideration physical condition, drug regime, cultural,
economic and social aspects.”
For patients in hospital:
Assessing nutritional status of patients needing intervention,
e.g. obese, hyperlipidemic, cardiac cases, hypertensives, renal,
diabetics and intensive care patients…..
Optimizing nutritional status/aiming for ideal body weight and
nutrition support, like oral feeding (including nutritional
supplements), enteral feeding and paraenteral feeding.
Symptom control: dietary management of diarrhea, constipation,
vomiting and nausea.
Liaising with the dietitian and kitchen staff and arranging
modified consistency meals when required (e.g. dysphagia/swallowing
problems) and special therapeutic diets, taking likes and
dislikes for cancer and pediatric patients.
Educating patient and family about the nature of the diet before
leaving the hospital.
Outpatient services
Dietary advice is offered on nutrition and weight issues,
private clinic is available for personal consultation for
outpatients and hospital staff.
